The young and intelligent General Science student stood above her competitors to clinch the one-year scholarship scheme during the â€˜Time with the Professorâ€™ series in the Eastern Region.
The iconic Ghanaian boxing figure took his youth empowerment tour to the Eastern Region on Thursday where he interacted with over 2000 students at the main hall of the Koforidua Secondary Technical School.
Students drawn from other schools in the region including Pope Johns Secondary and Junior Seminary, Oyoko Senior High, Oti Boateng Senior High, New Juabeng Senior High and Methodist Girls took turns to listen to the inspirational messages from the American Boxing Hall of famer.
In an exciting atmosphere, interspersed with occasional cheers from the students, the WBC Super featherweight greatest of all time, shared his heart-wrenching story with the students and encouraged them to imbibe the spirit of dedication, commitments, discipline and perseverance Â as they aspire to greater heights in their chosen fields of endeavour.
In attendance were the headmaster of Koforidua Secondary Technical School, Eastern Regional coordinator of the Guidance and Counseling Unit, Vida Annor and a host of teachers.
Azumah will take his next tour to the Greater Accra Region on Thursday April 9 where the various schools drawn from the region will gather at the Presbyterian Boysâ€™ Senior High School, Legon for a similar exercise.
His final tour will take place at the Aggrey Memorial A.M.E Zion School in Cape Coast on Friday April 10.
Azumah Nelson rose from obscurity to international fame as a result of determination, focus, character, discipline and mental fortitude amongst other positive traits and these and more are what he intends to share with the young generation.
